data-mm-id=”_ln7atshii”>Caleb Williams was heralded as one of the greatest QB prospects in recent memory before this college football season. As is wont to happen with such prospects, once the games started, Williams has been criticized from every direction thanks to the intense microscope he was under from the first snap. Even if the USC quarterback played perfect football people would find holes to poke in his game. Unfortunately for Williams he has not played perfect football over the last few months. The flashes of talent that make him such an enticing prospect have certainly been on full display, but Williams has also exhibited signs of poor decision-making as he tries to do everything for a Trojans team that can be outmatched talent-wise. This season has also proven that Williams, for better and for worse, wears his heart on his sleeve. He clearly lives and dies with each game; whether that's good or bad for his draft stock depends on who you ask. It also opens him up to criticism of a different nature. Such was the case today, when Ian Rapoport (of all people) called out Williams for choosing not to speak to the media after USC dropped their fifth game of the season to rival UCLA. Joe Burrow learned his season was over on Friday, understood his responsibility, and went out and held a news conference. The job of a QB and face of the franchise. https://t.co/Xh0S6LpfUT— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 19, 2023Feels a little harsh, no? Joe Burrow is a great franchise quarterback and everything but he's also making quite a few times more than Williams to take on the burden of that responsibility. Williams is 22 years-old. It's fair to criticize him for not facing the music after a loss but to imply he doesn't have what it takes to be a franchise quarterback because of that is taking it a step too far. Very few guys are ready to be the face of a franchise from Day 1 anyhow. This sort of thing is what we'll be hearing all about in the months leading up to April's draft. Williams' physical talents are undeniable. The more ethereal intangibles, though, will be the talking point. Many a draft pundit will be wondering if Williams has the mental toughness to succeed in the NFL on camera. Rapoport is just getting a head start, apparentyly.

Atalanta are preparing an offer for Tammy Abraham, according to Fabrizio Romano. However, their move for the Chelsea striker depends on whether Inter Milan sell Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea and the Nerazzurri come for Duvan Zapata as a replacement for the Belgium international.
Arsenal are also reportedly interested in Abraham, but it remains to be seen if the Gunners persist in the race against Atalanta who are willing to pay €40 million for the services of the 23-year-old. What s more, Chelsea would be happier to sell the player abroad than to a Premier League rival.
As things stand, it seems that Lukaku s move back to Stamford Bridge may actually happen this month. Inter have already rejected an offer of €100m from the Champions League holders, but Chelsea are still …

Sunderland were forced to pay for not taking their chances as Fulham claimed a narrow 1-0 victory at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
The hosts dominated proceedings from the outset and had a number of good goalscoring opportunities through striker Jozy Altidore, but the visitors only needed one chance as Pajtim Kasami headed home from a corner in the second half.
Paolo Di Canio was without suspended duo Craig Gardner and David Vaughan for the opening fixture, while Steven Fletcher was forced to miss out with the ankle injury that ended his previous campaign in March.

World football s governing body initially imposed the punishment in January due to the capital clubs breaching rules in relation to the transfer of minors but suspended them later in the month, pending appeal.
Madrid and Atletico will now be unable to register new players until January 2018, with their respective initial fines of 360,000 Swiss francs and 900,000 Swiss francs remaining.

Liverpool are looking to move within six points of the Premier League s top four when they host Forest, before Champions League contenders Newcastle United and Tottenham face off on Sunday.
