Out of all the Super Bowl predictions we make here on Covers, this might be my favorite one.
I mean, where else are you going to find someone willingly ready to break down Taylor Swift odds with such tremendous passion? I mean, did you see her new album cover? Like, she can do no wrong.
Ok, now that this Tortured Poet has wrangled back the keyboard from the palms of the “World’s No. 1 Swiftie” (my wife), let’s get serious.
Taylor Swift has been a money-making machine for the NFL. She’s generated $331.1 million in brand value and she’s all anyone wants to talk about despite the Super Bowl odds suggesting this game could be one for the ages.
Join me as I forgo the standard NFL picks and Chiefs vs 49ers predictions and break down the Tay…
Week 4 saw another positive outcome, and while it wasn’t exactly a flashy home run of a week, we’re still moving the chains.
As long as there’s forward progress, no matter how incremental, I won’t complain — and I’m adopting that strategy to kick off my best Week 5 player props.
My TNF prop has us hitting the weekend running, and the rest of my best NFL picks are backing a veteran RB to continue his rebound from an ugly start to the season, along with an upstart QB shredding a bad pass defense, a “King” to continue his reign of dominance, and a prop pick for Monday Night Football.

We're not really sure why we're supposed to care about the Ryder Cup. First off, it's golf: It's the furthest thing from a team sport, and no matter how hard they try to convince us that we're rooting for "America," it's hard to inspire enthusiasm to root for the home country to avoid the bunkers while wearing knickers. It's not like most people consider golfers to be just like them anyway; is there really that much difference between a rich American golfer and a rich British one? (Other than the teeth.) Which is another problem too: It's the United States vs. Europe. That's hardly an opponent that inspires much vitriol. If they really want the silly trophy that badly, they can have it. That said, the Ryder Cup does start tomorrow…
The Morecambe midfielder Yann Songo’o has been suspended for six matches after using a homophobic slur in a match and apologised for his actions, asking for forgiveness.
Songo’o was sent off during Morecambe’s League Two fixture against Tranmere in January for using foul and abusive language, apparently directed at one of Tranmere’s players. He was charged with improper conduct by the FA with a further aggravated breach of the rules because the language included “a reference to sexual orientation”.
Songo’o admitted the charge and after a hearing by an independent regulatory commission he was given the minimum suspension of six matches. Songo’o must also undergo face-to-face anti-discrimination educat…
Manchester City pushed hard to sign Harry Kane last year. Following the departure of Sergio Agüero to Barcelona, City wanted a new striker to fill the void in their frontline. Tottenham, though, did not budge in their demand that City pay £150m for the England captain. Kane wanted to go, but City did not up their offer and he remained at Spurs. The lack of a natural striker did not hold back City, who retained their Premier League title last season while scoring more goals (99) than any other team in Europe’s top five leagues.
So, of course City went out and signed goal machine Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this summer. The Norwegian has wasted no time in acclimatising to the demands of Premier League football. In nine appearance…

The allegation was made public over the weekend by Toronto manager John Herdman, who accused Cushing of punching an unnamed 19-year-old player at half-time of a game between the two teams earlier this season.

With just 12 regular-season games on the schedule, every Saturday carries significant weight in the college football season. Two weeks of the 2024 campaign are complete, and after Week 3, most programs will be a quarter of the way through their schedule. The sample size provides some insight, with positive momentum evident for the best teams in the nation. Others were tripped up on the way to the heart of the schedule in October and November and are flying into the danger zone unless they can turn it around immediately. 10. Yesterday, members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) convened in order to decide which of the 26 core Olympic sports would be dropped from the 2020 summer games in order to make room for the inclusion of a new sport. Everybody thought that the IOC was going to bring the axe down on modern pentathlon, because modern pentathlon is kind of dumb. Instead, the committee decided to kill wrestling, a sport that has been part of the Olympics since 1896 and has given us some of the most memorable Olympic moments. So, what gives? Why would the IOC abandon one of the best sports the Olympics has to offer? Perhaps they had some insight that the rest of us don't, or access to metrics that showed them that wrestling's time as an Olympic sport had to come to an end. The board v…
