Malaga appoint Schuster

Malaga have appointed Bernd Schuster to replace the outgoing Manuel Pellegrini as their new manager on a five-year deal.

Schuster has managed in Spain before, including a title-winning season at Real Madrid in the 2007-08 campaign.

The German s last job in management was in the Turkish Super Lig with Besiktas, a position he left in March 2011 after less than a year in charge.
La Liga outfit Malaga are resigned to losing Pellegrini after the Chilean announced that he was calling time on his two-and-a-half-year spell at the club, with Premier League runners-up Manchester City widely reported to be his next destination.
Malaga finished sixth last term but will not be able to compete in next season s UEFA Europa League after the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld their ban from European competition.
The punishment was handed out by UEFA after Malaga failed to keep up with payments to fellow clubs and the Spanish tax authorities.
